Conjunto music is a vibrant, culturally rich genre that emerged in Mexican-American communities in Texas in the late 19th century. It blends Mexican folk traditions with polkas, waltzes, and other regional styles, creating a lively, rhythmic sound. The lyrics often explore themes of love, cultural identity, and everyday life, serving as a vital expression for Mexican-Americans and shaping the foundation of Tex-Mex music.
You’ll also hear Cumbias woven into the mix. Rooted in Colombian tradition and infused with Mexican influences, Cumbia has grown into a dynamic genre with deep cultural roots. Its adaptability and openness to innovation have made it an enduring and influential part of Mexico’s musical landscape.

Los Rebeldes, sometimes known as The Rebels, play more than just classic Conjunto and Mexican Folk music. They bring their Tex-Country/Rock sound to life with fiery “rockcordion” riffs and soaring guitar leads. Their high-energy shows revive the music of legends like Johnny Cash, Freddy Fender, and Willie Nelson, all reimagined with the unique pairing of accordion and guitar.

For smaller venues and events, Los Rebeldes also offers a duo performance featuring accordionist Luke Cardona and bajo quinto player Liam Moore. This setup is ideal when you want the lively sounds of Tex-Mex, Conjunto, and Country music at a more intimate volume. Together, Luke and Liam deliver a high-energy show that highlights the soulful diatonic accordion and the rich tones of the ten-string bajo quinto.
